Why we do not use accessibility overlay widgets

Accessibility overlay products add a JavaScript layer over existing HTML but do not repair the underlying code. Screen readers still encounter the same broken markup. We fix accessibility at the source code level so that every user, regardless of assistive technology, receives a genuinely accessible experience.

Our Commitment

Neuron Connect believes every person deserves equal access to health information and services. We are dedicated to maintaining and improving the accessibility of this website on an ongoing basis.

Standards and Guidelines

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, our primary technical conformance target.
  • ADA Title III - Americans with Disabilities Act, the legal basis for web accessibility in the United States.
  • Section 508 - Federal accessibility standard for electronic and information technology.

Accessible Features

Specific measures we have taken to support users of all abilities.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone. Focus order follows the visual layout and a skip-to-content link appears at the top of every page.

Screen Reader Support

Semantic HTML landmarks, descriptive headings, and ARIA attributes ensure screen readers can announce content accurately. Form fields have programmatic labels; errors are announced via live regions.

Color Contrast

All text meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1. UI components and focus indicators meet the 3:1 minimum.

Visible Focus Indicators

A high-contrast teal focus ring is visible on every interactive element for keyboard and switch-access users. Focus is never removed without a visible replacement.

Responsive and Zoomable

The site remains fully functional at 200% browser zoom and reflows correctly at 320 px viewport width. No horizontal scrolling is required at any text size.

Reduced Motion Support

All animations and scroll-reveal transitions are disabled when the operating system or browser reports a preference for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce).

Feedback and Contact

We want to hear from you if you experience any accessibility barriers on this website. We are committed to responding to feedback and working toward a resolution as quickly as possible.

Known Limitations

The embedded Google Maps iframe on the Contact page is a third-party component and may not be fully accessible. We provide a text-based address and a direct link to Google Maps as alternatives. Embedded YouTube videos on blog posts rely on YouTube's built-in caption support. We include transcript summaries in the surrounding page content where applicable.
